Amazing weight loss stories?

Tell me yours, and what’s your secret?
I am not looking for a quick fix – I know the only way is eat less + exercise more.

I just want to hear everyone’s own little stories for some inspiration – how did you overcome the cravings etc?
Although every now and then, you always come across little miss/mr negative wanting to put a damper on things. I am not stupid – I know it takes hard work.

I am looking to hear from those that have done it – not those on the outside waffling on about how there are no easy routes etc. If you have something negative, then don’t bother saying it.

I live abroad and visit my family in Wales regularly about evry 2mths.

About 4 yrs ago I went back after not being over for a while and my mum and sister were shocked to see me as I had put so much weight on! They weren’t nasty about it…in fact they said it suited me! But being always quite slight, my metabolism had obviously decided to slow down a little…and I had put on weight slowly without realising!

So when I got back home I ct ouut the bad food, bought a Davina Mccall finess vid. You may laugh but after 2mths I lost a stone! So I carried on till I was at the weight I liked…and have never looked back. In fact I am really quite fit now, I cycle and walk my dog, box, aerobics! Suppose I got bitten by the bug, Exercise makes me happy and i like the results

Not a fantastic story really cos I was never obese. But it just shows with determination you can do it!

I replaced my breakfast and lunch for juiced carrots celery and beets

for dinner I would have a low sodium broth soup with some veggies and some meat or egg in it.

im sorry but there is no quick fix to weight problems

the best thing is a healthy diet and lots of exercise

normally if you lose alot of weight very quickly you are more likely to put it on again

Hooray! You sound like someone who finally has the picture right- it is not easy and it is hard work. But it can be done with a little bit of discipline, education and support. Good on you for realising that now. I have had good success with an online diet that a friend put me on to- it’s really handy because it accurately predicts how much weight you are going to lose. It works by monitoring your calorie intake and usage (through food and exercise) and gives you these awesome motivational graphs to keep you going. Not to mention the food is really good, although you can adjust it to whatever you like. Anyway, its http://www.alfitness.com.au
